These guidelines should be read in conjunction with our User Terms. Trotter is committed to the highest standards of integrity and respect and therefore encourages you to be kind, thoughtful and mindful of these standards when posting content on our app.
Your Trotter membership and admission to Trotter events and experiences may be suspended or terminated at any time by Trotter in the event that Trotter considers that your conduct, or the conduct of one of your guests, is or might be injurious to the character, reputation or interests of Trotter, in breach of these guidelines, or may otherwise bring Trotter or the app into disrepute.
1. Intellectual property and sharing personal information
You must ensure that you have the appropriate rights and consents to create and share content on the app. This is because the content you post may contain information about another individual which is personal or private and which they do not wish to be shared on a public forum. For instance, a person’s name, email address, residential addresses, credit / debit card information, characteristics and preferences. Similarly, you should not post material which infringes the legal rights of another person or organisation. For instance, trade marks, logos or content which is subject to copyright or other intellectual property rights (e.g., content copied from other websites, apps, people or companies).
2. Illegal content, activities or behaviour
You must not post content which is illegal, which describes the participation in illegal conduct by yourself or your guests, or which encourages, promotes or glorifies illegal activities or behaviour.
3. Language
Trotter does not allow content which includes profanities or other content which we consider to be offensive, vulgar or in breach of the standards described at the outset of these guidelines. This includes personal insults or other comments which may be disrespectful or demeaning to others.
4. Hate speech, bullying and abuse
Trotter does not allow implicit or explicit threats of violence or bullying, hateful, discriminatory, intolerant, harassing, abusive or derogatory words or speech in relation to others or in relation to matters concerning race, ethnicity, nationality, gender (identity, orientation or expression), religious or spiritual beliefs, social or economic standing or physical or mental abilities.
5. Inappropriate content
Trotter does not allow content that shows or describes nudity, sexual services or sexual objectification or that is violence (towards people, animals or property), or is threatening, obscene or intended to shock, or disturb or cause harm in any way, even if that content is intended to be humorous or sarcastic. Trotter also does not allow controversial or irrelevant (to your travel experiences) content to be posted on our app. This includes comments on political or religious beliefs or social or political issues or movements which are in no way connected to Trotter events, experiences or travel generally.
6. Promotion of third party services or products
Trotter does not allow content which includes advertisements or other promotions of any third party commercial services. This includes content which contains links to websites for businesses, external blogs, social media handles, affiliate codes or business contact details unless that content is general, relevant and helpful for travellers trying to make certain travel arrangements (e.g. sharing a link to a website which allows travellers to book a specific local excursion).
Trotter reserves the right to remove any content from our app with does not comply with these guidelines or our user terms without notice to you. Please be aware that Trotter may also, in its sole discretion, report any content posted on its app to the police or other relevant authorities if we deem it appropriate to do so.
